Hi — I'm ScanForgeBot.

If you're reading this, you probably saw our User-Agent in your logs and want to know what we're doing.

What ScanForgeBot does

ScanForgeBot crawls websites on behalf of their owners (who've signed up for ScanForge and verified they own the site) to run accessibility, SEO, uptime, form, image, and compliance audits. We only scan sites our customers have registered and verified — we don't crawl the open web.

Our User-Agent

ScanForgeBot/1.0 (+https://scanforge.ca/bot)

How we behave

  • We respect your robots.txt, including Crawl-Delay directives.
  • Maximum 2 concurrent requests per hostname.
  • We back off exponentially on 429 and 503 responses.
  • Scans run on a user-configured cadence — never continuously.

Be aware this will also stop your own audit reports if you're a ScanForge customer.

Email abuse@scanforge.ca with your domain and we'll investigate. If ScanForgeBot is hitting a site that hasn't authorized scanning, let us know — that's a violation of our terms and we'll shut it down.
